Water Level Report

I wrote to Kokua Line at the star advertiser newspaper about the low water level.
Read today's edition on section B2. Basically Dole Food wants to keep level at
65 feet for flood control but will allow it to 70 feet during the dry summer months.
Today at 64 feet because no rain recently.

Utility Line in water

Went fishing today and saw the utility line going to boys scout island in the water.
You still can get by on both sides by the shore.
If anyone knows who to contact regarding this dangerous situation,
please forward this message.

Re: Wahiawa Middle School Bass Program

I was curious so took a trip this morning to investigate. The contractor was patching with concrete all of the erosion holes around and under the ramp. The dock fenders made of hard plastic is complete and looks good. They will install cleats along the walkway this afternoon. Just in time for summer...

Beware- falling trees

This morning at 10:00, in the cove on the right before Mikimiki Flats, a huge tree came down. I was in the middle of the cove but luckily the tree went sidewards into the water. It would have been a close call if the tree fell to the middle of the cove. Look for the tree with the fresh root ball. Be...

I might be interested in your tracker.
I would like to look at it and see what you have done
to yours. I have a 12' jon now and may want to
upgrade.
How do I get hold of you?
Thanks,
Glenn

Good news and bad news

Bad news: 1. 15 slabs showing at 3:00 today. 2. Nobody will be able to launch very soon. Good news: 1. Tucs are starting to pair up for spawning. I saw 6 pairs but not protecting any bed. They just swim away when you approach. 2. Tucs are more active now. Caught a bunch on lure and live bait. Larges...

Hi Stan,
When nothing is biting, I always have some live bait along.
In this case it was medakas.
I caught the two bigger ones at Mikimiki Flats
and the small one at Kemoo Island.
Glad to help.

Fished Tuesday from 11 to 2. Nothing happening out here. Managed to catch 3 tucs. 1 - 12" 1 - 2.1 lb. 1 - 4.1 lb. 21 1/2" tag # 3936 I didn't have my reading glasses but that's my guess on the tag #. Where did the released LMB go. I think I'll wait for warmer weather when the bass get more active. :...

Skinny LMB

Almost all of the LMB that I'm catching are skinny as compared to the tucs that are always with fat bellies. Could it be that the released LMB can't find the food very well as the lake spawned tucs. Is the intermediate school also raising feeder fishes to release into the lake. I hope the LMB don't ...

schooling tucs

I went fishing today to check out if the tucs were still busting at BSI as mentioned by "skunked" yesterday. Sure enough, I fished for 2 hours at BSI today and the tucs were busting for 2 hours. They hit any lure that you could get into the bust. I kept changing lures to test which one was better bu...

I fished today and the water level was about 15' above the end of the
walkway. I could even pull my boat off the trailer from the end of the
walkway.
Must have rained a lot since last week.
So why is the gauge not registering?

I wonder if my honey hole was the same one fished on Friday? After chatting with you at BBP, I made my way back fishing the shoreline. I came across what looked like 2 spawning tucs but they were not interested in lure or live bait. But at the same area I started catching tuc after tuc in the 1-1/2 ...

Spawn is over - tucs more active

Looks like the spawn was very good this year. I see pairs swimming with lots of 2" fries. I has a ball of at least a 100 3" tucs chasing my lure all the way to the boat. They would follow on every cast(what a sight). Also. the Tucs are getting more active. I caught a bunch of Tuc that came out of th...
